Viña Ijalba Genolí Viura 2024 We have become impassioned devotees of Macabeo – Viura’s other name in Spain. López de Heredia alerted us to the variety’s innate class and age-worthiness, and we now find more and more examples of it – including this fresh, leesy beauty, so full of fruit and lift, perhaps deriving partly from its deft seasoning of Maturana Blanca and Sauvignon Blanc. VARIETIES: Viura 90%, 5% Tempranillo Blanco, 5% Maturana Blanca. ELABORATION: Maceration at low temperature and a gentle cold pneumatic pressing. Racking of the must in narrow concrete tanks lined with epoxy. The wine ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 15 ºC. ANALYTICAL INFORMATION: 12,80% alcohol; 80 mg/l total sulfur. STORING: A wine ideal to drink young. Its production includes low-temperature maceration and cold pneumatic pressing, followed by settling in narrow concrete tanks and controlled fermentation at 15ºC for 30 days, preserving the aromas and freshness of the grape. Bright straw yellow in color, it offers intense aromas of green apple, citrus, and white flowers. On the palate, it is fresh, with balanced acidity , a smooth and creamy texture, ideal for enjoying young. Perfect to accompany fish, seafood, rice dishes, salads or light cuisine, this Viura reflects the elegance and authenticity of Rioja in every sip.
